What was once an almost derelict commercial tower, housing the World Trade Center, has been revived, restored, and reenergised by the luxury Four Seasons hotel group. Located at the riverside end of Canal Street, this impressive hotel offers incredible views over the mighty Mississippi and is just minutes away from the historic French Quarter and buzzing Warehouse District.

The service is impeccable, there are two destination restaurants, and the accommodation is reassuringly crisp, modern, and stylish. Guests can choose from a river or city view and all rooms and suites benefit from floor-to-ceiling windows. There is a mid-century vibe, with clean lines, white oak, comfortable furnishings, and a white plaster wall relief of magnolia flowers above each bed. The Carrara marble ensuite bathrooms add to the luxe feel, with large walk-in shower or soaking bathtubs.

Amenities include Nespresso coffee maker, kettle, in room safe, well stocked minibar, Wi-Fi, large flatscreen TV, iPad for in room controls and services, robes, slippers, hairdryer and L’Occitane bath products. Superior City-View Rooms sleep up to 2 adults and a child, while Deluxe and Premier Room categories can sleep up to 2 adults and 2 children. For extra space, Executive Suites include a spacious living area, or the River-View One-Bedroom Suite has a separate bedroom. For added comfort in which to unwind and entertain, there are two Speciality Suites - the City-View Two-Bedroom Suite and the Presidential Suite, with expansive living areas, glorious views, butler’s pantry and large dining tables. Both sleep up to 4 guests.

Dining is a highlight of the hotel, with two destination restaurants to choose from. The Miss River has a contemporary Art Deco dining room and is overseen by head chef, Alon Shaya. The food is a tribute to the region’s flavours with buttermilk fried chicken, clay pot dirty rice and salt-crusted red snapper, among some of the favourites on offer. For more French-inspired Louisiana cuisine and a wonderful oyster bar, Chemin à la Mer offers a sophisticated menu to enjoy alongside panoramic Mississippi views. Do not miss the chance to sample a cocktail in the glamorous setting of the Chandelier Bar.

Guests enjoy access to a fitness centre with Peloton bikes, the Spa at the Four Seasons for relaxing and rejuvenating beauty treatments and the Garden, an attractive courtyard area. There is also a child-friendly heated outdoor pool, making the hotel a good option for families.
