The climate the Mediterranean is warm and sunny for the majority of the year with the risk of the odd shower of rain and some cooler periods over the winter. From April/May onwards the weather settles but it can sometimes be cool in the evenings. By mid/end of May, the weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can be very hot. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. May to October are particularly pleasurable months.

Day 9:

This morning, your exploration continues with a visit to an iconic monument—The Acropolis, Greece’s most revered and important landmark. Crowned by the majestic Parthenon, it stands guard over Athens, visible from almost every corner of the city. With a private guide, you will embark on a captivating journey through the rich history and culture of Ancient Greece, ascending the ancient steps and treading the well-worn path that countless individuals have travelled through the centuries. For a change of scenery, today you will visit Nafplio town and walk the picturesque alleys of one of the most romantic cities in all of Greece. Once serving as the first capital of the newly formed Greek state between 1823 and 1834, the city is stepped in history and relevance. The town's history can be traced back to the prehistoric era, when soldiers from here took part in both the Argonautic expedition and the Trojan War. During the Roman period, the town declined, but flourished again during the Byzantine period. Throughout the centuries, Frankish, Venetian, and Turkish conquerors left their mark on the town, heavily influencing its culture, architecture, and traditions. Explore the picturesque alleys of Nafplio & visit one of the best Venetian castles of the 18th century, Palamidi, a place known for its 999 steps & drenched in history, where the famous hero of the Greek Revolution Theodore Kolokotronis had been imprisoned.

 

Day 11:

Today, spend the day at leisure, utilising the facilities of the hotel. Sit by the pool or relax in the spa before checking out and transferring to the airport for your return flight
