Botswana’s winter is May to October when the weather is hot during the day (not stiflingly hot) and cold at night. Botswana's summer months (November to April) can be hot and humid and there is a chance of rain. Botswana has one rainy season which runs between mid-December and runs through to mid-March.

Itinerary

Day 1-4

Makgadikgadi Pans, Makgadikgadi and the Kalahari, Botswana

Your Botswana adventure begins with a journey to the iconic Jack’s Camp, a timeless safari camp set in the vast and otherworldly Makgadikgadi Pans. After arriving at Maun, you’ll take a scenic flight followed by a short drive to the camp, where you’ll be welcomed into the opulent Bedouin-style tents. Each suite boasts 1940s-inspired décor, complete with Persian rugs, vintage trunks, and a private deck overlooking the pans.

Day 1: Spend your first afternoon unwinding after your journey. Enjoy a traditional afternoon tea followed by a sundowner drive into the pans, where the horizon seems infinite. As the stars emerge, marvel at one of the most pristine night skies on Earth.

Days 2–3:

Immerse yourself in the unique ecology of the Makgadikgadi with a range of expertly guided activities.
In the morning: Venture out on quad bikes (dry season) to explore the salt flats or walk alongside the San Bushmen, learning about their ancient way of life.
In the afternoon: Enjoy game drives to spot resident meerkats, elusive brown hyenas, and seasonal migrations of zebra and wildebeest.
In the evenings, return to camp for sumptuous dinners in the atmospheric dining tent, followed by stargazing or storytelling around the fire.

On your final morning, bid farewell to the Makgadikgadi before a short flight to your next destination.

Day 4-7

Okavango Delta and Moremi, Botswana

Your journey continues with a light aircraft flight into the heart of the Okavango Delta, where you’ll arrive at North Island Okavango, an intimate and exclusive camp surrounded by the Delta’s lush waterways.

Day 4: After settling into your luxurious suite, enjoy a relaxing mokoro ride, gliding silently through the Delta’s tranquil channels. Your guide will introduce you to the incredible diversity of flora and birdlife, including kingfishers, herons, and water lilies.

Days 5–6:

Morning & Evening Game Drives: Track the Big Five and other iconic wildlife, including leopards, African wild dogs, and elephants, with expert guides.
Guided Bush Walks: Get up close to the smaller details of the Delta, from rare orchids to colorful frogs.
Seasonal Water Activities: Depending on the time of year, embark on boating safaris or explore hidden lagoons.
Between excursions, unwind at camp, where you can take in panoramic views of the Delta from your private deck. Evenings feature gourmet meals paired with fine wines, shared in the serene ambiance of the bush.
On your last morning, enjoy a final game drive or a leisurely breakfast before transferring to the final leg of your journey.

Day 7-10

Khwai Private Reserve, Okavango Delta, Botswana

Your final destination is Tuludi, a luxurious camp set in the Khwai Private Reserve, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. Arrive via light aircraft to discover your elegant treehouse-style tent, designed to immerse you in the natural beauty of the surrounding wilderness.

Day 7: Spend your first afternoon on a relaxed game drive through the reserve, where sightings of big cats, hippos, and elephants are common. Return to camp for cocktails by the fire, followed by a delectable dinner served under the stars.

Days 8–9:

Game Drives: Discover the incredible biodiversity of Khwai, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards. The area’s proximity to water also attracts herds of buffalo and playful pods of hippos.
Mokoro Safaris: Experience the serenity of the waterways as your expert guide navigates narrow channels lined with papyrus.
Village Visit: Gain insights into the local culture with an optional visit to a nearby community.
Relaxation at Camp: Between activities, take a dip in Tuludi’s beautiful pool or enjoy uninterrupted views from your private balcony.
On your final morning, savor a leisurely breakfast while soaking in the last moments of your safari before your flight back to Maun, where your adventure concludes.
