This stylish landscape hotel has been woven into the fabric of the stunning untouched island of Folegandros. Sitting in 80 hectares of pristine natural beauty, Gundari has been designed to blend effortlessly into the natural environment, enjoying an exceptional location atop rugged cliffs with panoramic Aegean views. The 25 suites and two villas, all with private pools and terraces are dotted throughout, providing both seclusion and tranquillity. The suites and villas are designed using natural stone, woods, ceramic and marble, and the décor, earthy tones and considered furnishings have been carefully curated to create a sense of serenity and intimacy. Guests enjoy King-size beds, living and dining area, Smart TV, climate control, Klipsch streaming speaker, shaded deck with loungers, private heated infinity pool, outdoor shower, and spectacular views. Cave Suites are located on the cliff edge for more dramatic views, while the two beautifully appointed villas offer extended space, and sleep up to either six or eight guests.

The resort’s Orizon Restaurant is overseen by Michelin-starred Greek chef Lefteris Lazarou. Expect an authentic farm-to-table modern Greek menu created from produce grown on Gundari’s organic farm, along with local fish and seafood. To accompany meals, there is an impressive wine list. Along with individual private pools, Gundari boasts a large, heated pool with a swim up artisanal cocktail bar. For optimal wellness, head to the subterranean spa which uses local plants and tonics to deliver therapeutic treatments based on the healing traditions of ancient Greece. There’s a hydrotherapy pool, with sound baths, yoga and energy healing all available from visiting wellness practitioners. Gundari is a member of Earthcheck undergoing regular audits to measure its carbon footprint and improve energy efficiency. What’s more, the resort uses renewable solar energy, has a water treatment and recycling system, maintains a 100% electric fleet and is working towards zero waste and eliminating single-use plastics.

Gundari is located on the southeast coastline of Folegandros, a small undiscovered Cycladic Island. This is a place of immense natural beauty with pristine beaches, steep cliffs, and traditional villages. The island’s capital Chora is around 3km from Gundari and is regarded as one of the most beautiful places in the Cyclades. Guests can explore the local beaches, take a boat trip to nearby Milos and Sifnos, scuba dive, snorkel, borrow an e-bike, take a cookery class and hike to panoramic viewpoints. Folegandros can be reached by fast ferry from Athens (3.45-hrs) or Santorini (50-minutes).
