The Te Po experience combines cultural, gastronomic and natural wonders into a fascinating package. Begin with a Maori feast prepared in the traditional Hangi style, with New Zealand mussels, corn on the cob, rewana bread and dips and a local drink of kawakawa extract and manuka honey.  Meats, vegetables and salads accompany the Hangi, washed down with wine, beer and soft drinks and followed by a delicious dessert. After dinner, you’ll board the motorised Waka to travel through Te Puia’s geothermal valley on a magical evening tour to the Pohutu Geyser. Illuminated against the starry night sky, this makes an atmospheric backdrop to your guide’s tales of Maori mythology. With performances of traditional cultural dances, including the poi dance and terrifying Haka, this experience is an enthralling opportunity to discover Maori heritage, while enjoying a delicious feast and experiencing the natural wonders of Rotorua.
