This itinerary is available from late April until October which is the best time to enjoy Norway's long summer days .

May is a beautiful time to go with the snow-capped mountains, raging waterfalls and blossom on the trees, with little lambs frolicking in the fields. For those that would like to have a bit of a calmer trip outside the peak season, September is also great. As the leaves are changing and the weather is still warm, it makes for a fantastic time of year to visit.

The Flaam Railway is open all year round; voted one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world. Also trips to the local fjords is available throughout the year.

Fly to Oslo
Day 1-3

Oslo, Norway

Plunge into the cosmopolitan capital city of Oslo for your first two nights, staying at the uber exclusive Amerikalinjen.
  
The entry way into Norway, featuring a mixture of both modern and classic architecture, against a backdrop of seductive rolling hills. Oslo has a booming contemporary art scene, some of which is highlighted at Vigeland Sculpture park, where you can meander among over 200 bronze and granite statues. In contrast to the modern, high-rise buildings the city also plays homage to its Viking roots, which can be explored at the Museum of Cultural History and the Viking Ship Museum.

For a really immersive trip head out on bike with your expert tour guide to see the best that Oslo has in store for you, from the Royal Palace to the Natural Theatre.

Day 3-6

Aurland, Norway

Recline into relaxation as you travel first class taking in the mesmerising scenery throughout the four-and-a-half-hour journey to Myrdal, from where you will join the iconic Flåm railway, one of the world’s most beautiful train journeys. The 55-minute journey takes you on one of the steepest train lines in the world as you pass through a breath-taking landscape of steep mountains, glistening fjords and plunging waterfalls.

You will be staying at the prestigious, 29/2 Aurland, whose owners Tone & Bjorn await with a wonderful Norwegian welcome at this opulent family-run property. Your epic outdoor adventure begins, explore on foot or by bike, as gourmet picnic lunches and stunning hikes await, as well as incredible views of the fjord.

We’ve included a private guided hike to Turlidfossen waterfall, which is a fantastic introduction to the incredibly scenery that surrounds the property here. Explore the stunning fjords by rowing boat a truly serene experience and enjoy an al fresco picnic lunch in this picturesque setting, before some time to explore the Aurland fjord region. In the evening your hosts will heat up the wood-fired hot tub for your private use, so you can relax and watch the sun dip below the horizon as a delicious dinner is prepared for you.

Day 6-9

West coast fjords, Norway

Your next stop is the utterly luxurious Storfjord Hotel, offering the finest cuisine with an incredible setting with sweeping fjord views and whose inviting sofas by the roaring open fires will make you never want to leave!
 
During your stay at Storfjord you will enjoy a private boat trip to the astounding Geirangerfjord; a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to stunning waterfalls as well as the Golden Route. Experience the fjord from the water as you sail between the rising mountains, enjoying the calm, smooth waters and stillness of this magical area.  There are also several great hiking options close to the hotel, and the region is renowned for its untouched nature and rugged alpine peaks. After a busy day enjoying the fresh mountain air with plenty of exercise, you’ll be glad to retire to the comfort of your cosy hotel for a hearty meal and restful sleep.
