Accompanied by an experienced and enthusiastic local guide you will be taken to explore the absolute highlights of Salta, including the San Bernardo Convent, the San Francisco Church, the main plaza and the MAAM. Here you’ll learn all about the discovery of three immaculately preserved mummies at the fascinating Inca Sanctuary found nearby at the peak of Llullaillaco Volcano in 1999, as well as the city's pre-Colombian history. Only one mummy is exhibited at any given time, stored in a specially designed high-tech display which preserves the remains. If you have extra time you will have the opportunity to visit some of Salta's authentic local markets and boutiques.
Please note that afternoon temperatures in Salta can be high and the city tends to close down between 1pm and 5pm.
