Bamurru Plains

This remote and beautiful wilderness region has no other accommodation like the exclusive Bamurru Plains. The focus of your stay here is on the environment around you that the wildlife and birdlife here call home. The safari suites have all been designed to blend into the environment and maximise the potential to see and hear the natural wonders of the bush - televisions and telephones are not found here - the key creature comforts of comfortable beds, good quality sheets, large fluffy towels, hot showers and plenty of space are what are important.

With just ten freestanding safari suites raised on timber platforms overlooking the floodplains and surrounding bush area, the camp is incredibly exclusive. The accommodation is similar to the luxury safari camps in Africa, all with en-suite bathrooms and much of it open so that you have maximum viewing potential.

Excellent food and wine add to the ‘Wild Bush Luxury’ experience. Evenings tend to start with sundowners and canapés, and meals in the lodge tend to be communal with guests sharing stories about their day while enjoying wholesome and innovative cuisine. Your hosts and guides will be integral to your stay here and you will receive personal attention only possible in a lodge with so few guests - it is their knowledge and experience that bring the place alive.

Whether bush walking, cruising the river or taking a 4 wheel drive safari in Bamarru's Toyata Land Cruisers, you will see wallabies, dingos, crocodiles, buffalo and wild pigs along with fantastic bird life. Fishing, whether for Barramundi in the river or for larger game, is second to none here and you can also visit Kakadu National Park and Arnhem Land for more stunning landscapes and important Aboriginal heritage sites.
