Featuring exceptional Tyrolean craftsmanship, glorious mountain views, along with spacious and comfortable interiors, Chalet Maria Schnee was originally built by World Cup alpine ski champion, Gertrud Gabl in 1978. Since then, new owners have restored the property to showcase the original rustic charm of the building, while enhancing it with sleek modern design and statement contemporary art. The property is spread across four floors and the aged wood, rich fabrics and neutral colour palette create a cosy and relaxing vibe. A great choice for larger groups, the chalet comfortably sleeps 10 adults and five children.
Guests are welcomed into a large open plan living and dining area, with sunken lounge, fireplace, library nook, guest WC, and floor-to-ceiling French doors, opening onto a delightful sun-facing terrace. The dining table seats up to 12, while the guest kitchen has an additional table for children’s tea.
The lower ground floor is home to the children’s playroom which transforms into a hi-tech cinema room, a gym, sauna, guest WC, ski storage room with heated boot warmers, laundry room and professional kitchen with separate entrance for maximum guest privacy. Along the corridor is a triple bedroom with three single beds and ensuite bathroom, ideal for teens and younger children. Back up on the ground floor, there is a double ensuite bedroom off the kitchen and a second ensuite bedroom on the upper ground floor, where there’s also a cosy snug for enjoying a schnapps or two.
The remaining three bedrooms and bunkroom are all located on the first floor. The master bedroom is particularly sumptuous with coffered wooden ceiling, generous ensuite and large sunny terrace. Also of note is the old Tyrolean zirbenstube, which has been converted into a double bedroom complete with traditional stove. Alongside this, is another double bedroom and bunk room. All bathrooms include robes, slippers, amenities, and hairdryer.
