The Kristiania is a small, intimate hotel in a secluded setting with stunning mountain views. The ski lifts are a 10 minute walk away or you can opt for the hotel's private shuttle from the door. Lech is one of the world's best known ski resorts and boasts 88 ski lifts and 260km of prepared piste and the hotel aims to make your days on these slopes as enjoyable as possible.
The Kristiania is furnished with antiques, contemporary art work and the rooms are individually styled, lending the hotel a very different ambiance to a typical ski hotel. Each of the rooms offers a decor of rich fabrics and decorative lighting, all with chic black and white bathrooms. For something different try the Duplex Suite with its bold coloured walls combined with zebra skin rugs.
Relax in the cosy dark wood Rote bar with open fireplace before dining in the elegant restaurant which has a sophisticated menu and excellent wine list. Dinner in the Kaminzimmer with its open fireplace is a more relaxed affair. And you'll never suffer through a lack of choice of what to drink with dinner - there are over 7000 bottles of mature wine in the traditional cellar. The small wellness area has a sauna and relaxation room where revitalising massage treatments help to unwind after a hard day on the slopes.
Children are very welcome at Kristiania and the friendly and efficient staff make sure that every child feels at home. The Kristiania even has their own ski nanny service available (small charge applies). The Ski Nanny programme is designed to introduce three-year olds and up to the fun and excitement of skiing and being outdoors in the winter. In addition, we can arrange for great fun-loving private babysitters, to come into your suite during your skiing holiday and take your children out and about in the snow. They will take them sledding, ice-skating, build snowmen or make snow angels and go for hot chocolate. Or if your children are exhausted from being outdoors, the babysitter is available to play indoors with them ensuring a memorable ski holiday.
The staff at the Kristiania are extremely welcoming and can organise every aspect of your stay when you're in residence. From choosing the best restaurant at lunch-time to selecting the best wines at dinner, you're in great hands. You'll know every staff member by their first name after a few days and the delightful owner, Miss Schneider will personally make sure you're stay is wonderful. Attention to detail and guest care is of utmost importance.
In addition to downhill skiing there are also plenty of alternative winter sports and activities to take part in. Cross-country skiers can enjoy 15km of interesting pistes around the resort, snowboarders and skiers alike can practice jumps and tricks at Lech's fantastic snowpark and heli-skiing is available for the more advanced who wish to ski in more remote off-piste locations. Paragliding is a fantastic opportunity to admire the beauty of Lech from the air whilst catching thermals high up in the mountains. Ice bowling, ice skating, snow shoe hiking and tobogganing are also possible.
