Occupying what was once the 1960's guest villa of Cambodia's retired king, Amansara is exclusive, luxurious and tranquil – the perfect retreat after a day's sightseeing offering fantastic service, delicious cuisine and luxury accommodation.

24 elegant suites, 12 of which have private pools
A daily outing is included with an Amansara guide in one of their customised remorks
Following Aman’s philosophy for zen-like simplicity, whilst not compromising on the highest possible levels of comfort, accommodation and service, Amansara is one of the most exclusive hotels in Siem Reap. Just 10 minutes from the entrance of Angkor, Amansara is a tranquil and exclusive garden enclave just a stone's throw from one of the most imposing UNESCO World Heritage Sites of over 1000 ancient temples.
The 24 suites are open plan with polished marble floors, creamy stucco walls and rich, dark Asian timbers. The rooms feel ultra modern and minimalist and beyond the combined sleeping and living area is the bathroom which opens onto a light-filled courtyard. 12 of the suites have their own salt water infinity pool.
Dining is in the imposing unique circular dining room or out on its terrace with fabulous panoramic views. Lunch by the poolside and dine under the stars on the roof terrace or in the comfort of your suite's own private courtyard. The chef specialises in Khmer favourites and elegant Western dishes and the food is simply exquisite.
The original slate swimming pool and lap pool offer respite from the heat and for a total immersion into relaxation, a treatment at the tranquil spa specialising in traditional Cambodian massage and beauty techniques is a must.
When to visit
Amansara's guides are the best in Siem Reap. I managed to have half an hour amongst the eerie faces of Bayon with only my guide and one other photographer for company.
