Originally opened in 1912, the Ritz Carlton has been a stable of luxury in Montreal for over a century. Closed over a 4 year period before its spectacular reopening in 2012, the hotel now offers a fusion of luxurious comforts and the elegance of bygone days.

Step into the lobby and step back in time with beautiful chandeliers, a frescoed ceiling and the stunning “Cinderella” staircase which still stands from when the hotel was originally built.

The Palm Court lounge has been beautifully renovated and is now home to the hotel’s famous afternoon teas served each day from 1pm until 6pm, they are a much coveted local event that ensures bookings are essential.

To one side of the lobby is the Maison Boulod restaurant, designed by a celebrated Canadian chef it oozes refined dining yet has a warm and welcoming feel. Walk out into the bright and airy conservatory and you have a perfect venue for weekend brunches and during the warmer months the terrace is the place to be where you can look over the charming garden complete with pond and resident ducks.

The hotel offers just 128 incredibly spacious rooms making it have a small and welcoming feel. Although not in a coveted old town Montreal location, the Ritz Carlton is fantastically placed for the centre of the city. Great shopping is only a couple of blocks away as well as plentiful choices for dining out. The cobbled streets of the old town are only a 15 – 20 minute stroll away and so the city really is at your doorstep.
