Ganden Monastery

Today, you will be driven approximately two hours out of Lhasa to visit the remarkable Ganden Monastery, located on a 4500m high altitude - the largest and oldest among the six renowned temples of Gelugpa. It is also known as one of the "Three Principal Monasteries" with the other two being Dreprung Monastery and Sera Monastery. At its peak, the monastery had a registration of more than 4,000. Hike up the hill and take in the stunning panoramic view of the landscape. With its breath-taking views of the surrounding Kyi-Chu Valley, unique architectural buildings along with beautiful cultural relics and handicrafts displays, it is a sight to visit! Drive back to Lhasa for lunch.
