Welcoming guests to the French Alps since 1849, this Belle Epoque gem enjoys a fabulous location in a peaceful garden setting, despite being in the centre of the lively alpine resort of Chamonix. The 41 rooms and suites boast feature wood panelling, wooden floors, a soothing palette enriched by subtle pops of colour and ensuite bathrooms stocked with Clarins products, along with robes, slippers, and hairdryer. Both Standard and Superior Rooms offer connectivity for families and larger groups, while Prestige and Prestige Plus Rooms offer sofa seating and views of Le Brévent mountain. The suites are spacious and include a living area and glass ‘ice cube,’ in which the bathtub and shower can be found, providing guests with a mini-spa experience. Junior Suites include a sofa bed for a child and there’s a choice of balcony and/or Mont Blanc views. Families may wish to book a Suite Duplex 2 Rooms or the Penthouse Suite. These have two bedrooms and bathrooms, private sauna and balcony facing Mont Blanc. The Penthouse bathtub faces Mont Blanc and makes for memorable bathing.
The hotel’s Restaurant Le Matafan serves exceptional modern and seasonal cuisine at tables arranged around a central contemporary fireplace during winter, or out on the terrace during the warmer months. Alternatively, Le Bar Lounge offers a warm and relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a drink and light snacks.
Along with a fabulous year-round outdoor heated pool and whirlpool tub overlooked by Mont Blanc, guests have access to Spa Clarins. Treatments and massage are available, as well as a sauna, hammam and fitness room.
The hotel is close to Chamonix tourist office, Place Balmat and the pedestrian Rue du Docteur Paccard. The Aiguille du Midi Cable Car is under a 10-minute walk, while Geneva Airport is 60-minutes away. Scott Dunn can provide private transfers on request. Trains from London involve two changes of train and take around 9-hrs.
