The climate in Greece is warm and sunny for the majority of the year, however the island properties are closed from around October to April. From April/May onwards the weather settles but it can sometimes be cool in the evenings. By mid/end of May, the islands come to life and weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can be very hot. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. May to September are particularly pleasurable months with July and August being particularly popular on the islands.

Fly to Athens

Day 1-3

Athens, Greece

Begin your journey in Athens, Greece’s ancient capital city with a history dating back thousands of years and a culinary scene to match. Spend two nights in the heart of the city, where you’ll have the chance to learn about Greek culture in the birthplace of western civilisation. Iconic landmarks such as the Acropolis tower over the city and Ancient Greek ruins are dotted between Athens’ contemporary architecture, in this city where antiquity and modernity meet.

Explore the city with your private guide, visiting local bakeries, enticing markets and traditional food shops as you discover some of Athens’ favourite dishes. Sample Greek classics such as olive oil, cheese and honey before tasting a selection of sweet treats loved by locals in some of the city’s oldest bakeries.

Day 3-6

Chania, Crete

Continue south to Crete, the largest of Greece’s islands. This beautiful island boasts a unique and diverse landscape, where dramatic mountain ranges meet quaint countryside villages and the coastline boasts idyllic beaches. Stay for three nights just outside Chania, a picturesque town where winding cobbled lanes lead to pretty Venetian architecture and lovely waterfront restaurants.

With your private guide, visit one of Crete’s vibrant markets, where you’ll have the chance to sample the local cheese and olives, before immersing yourself in a hands-on cooking class. You’ll visit a 17th-century farmhouse and, with guidance from a local cook, you’ll learn how to prepare a selection of traditional Cretan dishes before enjoying your delicious creations for lunch. Day 6-9

Oia, Santorini

Your final stop will be Santorini, perhaps one of Greece’s most picturesque islands, famed for its charming whitewashed villages and spectacular sunsets. Spend three nights in Oia and explore this beautiful clifftop town, home to cobbled streets and incredible views across Santorini’s caldera.

After soaking up the atmosphere in Oia, get off the beaten track and discover Santorini’s more traditional side. With your private guide you’ll visit a local winery to sample Santorini's unique wines, then you’ll have the chance to taste the island’s natural products at a local farm. Far from the bustling towns of Oia and Fira, you’ll enjoy a private cooking lesson and learn about Santorini’s fascinating past as you discover the unique flavours of this beautiful island.
