Visits to the surrounding villages are a must, particularly that of Chichicastenango which holds a fantastic market on Thursdays and Sundays selling local artefacts and wonderfully colourful textiles, a true characteristic of the Guatemalan people. Other activities include bird watching, fishing, horseback riding, and waterskiing on the crystal clear waters of the lake.

All rooms have a terrace and lake view, and it is lovely to be able to throw open the shutters and gaze on this stunning Central American scene complete with volcanoes.
