Straddling the equator, Indonesia tends to have a fairly even climate year-round. Rather than four seasons, Indonesia has two – dry (between May to September) and wet (between October to April) – and there are no extremes of temperature between winter and summer. In most parts of Indonesia, the wet season falls between October and April and the dry season between May and September. December and January see Bali at its most humid and rain tends to come in sudden tropical downpours, but it can also rain for more prolonged periods.
Itinerary
Fly to Yogyakarta
Borobudur, Java, Indonesia
Upon arrival in Yogyakarta, you will be driven a short distance to your hotel in Magelang, a scenic area characterised by rolling hills and coffee plantations and home to the UNESCO listed temple complex of Borobudur. The following morning, head to Borobudur to explore this majestic temple. One of South East Asia’s most impressive sites, Borobudur is the largest single Buddhist monument in the world – a particularly magical place to visit at sunrise.
The rest of your time is at your leisure to unwind and enjoy the spoils of your hotel, with a range of additional cultural excursions to local villages or scenic walks that can also be arranged.
Munduk, Bali, Indonesia
Today, you will be driven to the airport in time to catch your flight to Bali. After arriving in Bali, you will be driven to the village of Munduk to spend the next few days exploring the highlands of central Bali.
Included during your stay is a 4-wheel drive buggy drive through some of the area’s most beautiful scenery including the rice terraces of Benkel village, a forest walk and a canoe across the waters of Lake Tamblingan.

Ubud, Bali, Indonesia
Your next stop in Bali is Ubud. Known as Bali’s centre for culture and art, whilst also surrounded by beautiful scenery of lush rice paddies and rolling hills, no trip to Bali is complete without a visit to Ubud. Spend the next few days unwinding in your hotel, exploring the surrounding scenery and browsing the bustling markets and boutiques of the town centre.
During your stay in Ubud, we have included an excursion to discover the beauty of central Bali surrounding Ubud. Start by visiting the superb temple complex of Taman Ayun before continuing to visit the three caldera lakes in the Bedugual Regency and Bali’s iconic Ulun Danu Temple. After lunch, explore the UNESCO listed rice terraces of Jatiluwih.

Seminyak, Bali
Today, you will be driven to Bali’s south coast to enjoy three days unwinding in Seminyak where you’ll find golden sands and some of Bali’s finest shops and restaurants. Enjoy three nights at one of our favourite beach properties, with the days at leisure to relax and enjoy the facilities of your hotel. Unwind by the pool, try some water sports, stroll along the beach and sample some of Bali’s finest cuisine in the renowned restaurants of Seminyak. Further excursions to take you to explore more of the island can also be arranged.
