A family run property that prides itself on traditional Ladin hospitality and high levels of personal service, La Perla is in a quiet corner of Corvara, within the magnificent UNESCO-listed Dolomite Mountain range. A member of the Leading Hotels of the World, the hotel takes seriously its Ladin heritage, with traditional furnishings and artefacts on display. Expect warming stoves, cosy rugs, inviting wood-panelled rooms, and large picture windows overlooking the stunning views. The décor is enhanced with traditional and unique personal objects, such as old hats, walking sticks, rocking horses, a typewriter collection, paintings, clocks, vases, and teapots.

Along with several well-appointed single rooms, there are three room categories, all thoughtfully designed to reflect Tyrolean traditions and design, with each room individually decorated. Amenities include Wi-Fi, satellite TV, safety deposit box, ensuite bathroom with bathing products, bathrobes, slippers and hairdryer.

Standard rooms feature beamed ceilings, while Comfort Rooms have individual features including arched doorways, original headboards, and a fairy tale vibe. Some of these rooms feature the original ceilings from the original 17th century stuben. Romantik Rooms are beautifully furnished offering a large, homely living area. Balconies and mountain views are available in some Comfort and Romantik Rooms.

Les Stües is the hotel’s main restaurant. Full of traditional Tyrolean charm, this is where half-board guests enjoy relaxed dining on lovingly prepared traditional Ladin cuisine. The hotel also runs the Restaurant Ladina in the heart of the old village, dedicated to local ingredients, which boasts an extensive wine list. For a treat, the small wood panelled La Stüa de Michil has a Michelin-star and is an atmospheric setting in which to enjoy a fusion of East and West flavours created by head chef, Simone Cantafio.

Guests can also enjoy relaxing in the Bistrot Music Club & Bar, which serves light Italian snacks, drinks, and live music. While during the summer months, guests can enjoy the highest altitude beer garden in Alta Badia at the Biraria L’Murin, which also serves light meals alongside a range of carefully selected beers and live music. As a special treat, couples can also book the Tree House in the garden, to enjoy the sky night alongside an aperitivo.

The superb spa boasts an indoor pool, range of massage and beauty treatments, along with several saunas and a Turkish bath. The site also includes the Old House dating from 1400, an old wooden stuben used for wine tastings and traditional dinners. It is worth noting that the hotel has an extensive wine cellar and tastings can be arranged, as well as cooking sessions with Simone Cantafio, to learn more about his craft.

The closet international airport is at Innsbruck and the hotel is a 2-hour 15-minute drive away. Alternatively, Venice Airport is a 2-hours 40-minute drive.
