Whether your active and want to hike through the lush jungle or kayak around mangroves, or simply if listen to the sounds of the forest from the comfort of your terrace and gaze out over the ocean…the choice is yours
With four distinctive dining options, you won’t go hungry here…from refined gourmet dishes to a more casual yet equally delicious beach grill serving the freshest seafood
The Ritz Carlton Langkawi is set around two sandy coves overlooking the Andaman Sea, and surrounded by 10-million-year-old rainforest. The resort aims to embrace its natural surroundings, as well as incorporate Malaysian heritage into its design.
There are 90 rooms and suites, and 29 pool villas. The rooms are a spacious 75sqm, and the suites are even more generous at 100sqm. Both feature large balconies with rainforest views. The villas also offer huge amounts of space, including large living and dining areas, and for the ultimate indulgence, private pools. Many of the villas have sea views, and some offer direct access to the beach. For families and groups of friends there is also indulgent two-bedroom and three-bedroom option. All of the accommodation is luxuriously appointed, with a contemporary design featuring local influences.
There are plenty of dining choices. The Langkawi Kitchen serves traditional Malay, Chinese and Indian cuisine in a relaxed setting. Hai Yan is perched on the tip of the resort, providing panoramic views of the sea and serving delicious Chinese seafood. The design of the Beach Bar & Grill is intended to resemble the traditional Malaysian Bubu fish traps, therefore it is perhaps unsurprising that the menu focuses on fresh seafood, as well as Western favourites. Horizon is the resort's adults-only open air lounge, offering an intimate space to enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail and light Thai bites.
Whilst it is possible to simply relax either on the beach or by one of the resort's beautiful pools, or indulge in a treatment at the overwater spa, there is also plenty to keep everyone entertained should you wish. There are a number of complimentary in-resort activities, including yoga and mocktail mixology classes. For younger guests, there is a good Ritz Kids Club and exciting activities such as treasure hunts and kite painting. The resort is also in a great location for exploring Langkawi's diverse natural environment, including nature walks in the rainforest, and boat trips through mangroves.
When to visit
Book a spa appointment in the islands only over water spa, I would recommend the ultimate Bubu Spa Suite Experience which incorporates local influences and makes the most of the stunning views.
