Oyster Farm visit and Picnic Lunch
Enjoy locally grown oysters from Oualidia’s unique lagoon offering a delicate and balanced taste, including the house speciality, the Pied de Cheval Oyster.
The Oyster Farm tasting is led by a culinary expert in seafood. The guide will give an overview of Oualidia Village, why it’s known as the oyster city, and more details about the bivalves and how to prepare them for the ultimate culinary experience. He’ll take you out on a traditional fishing boat to explore the lagoon farms and introduce you to the harvesters, who’ll get you helping them harvest and shuck your lunch!
They are grown in Dakhla’s lagoon in the south of Morocco before a final maturation in Oualidia’s lagoon. For an international flavour, try the Crassostrea Gigas Oyster, also known as the Pacific Oyster. This oyster is native to the Pacific coast of Asia and has since been introduced in Europe and Morocco. To add a little flavour, your lunch will be set up overlooking the beach.
