Privately Guided Routeburn Track

Discover the world famous Routeburn track, one of NZ's Great Walks, with a private knowledgeable guide. Winding through alpine gardens and meadows, you will see stunning mountain vistas and hear native birdsong on this beautiful walk.You will be picked up from your accommodation by a luxury 4 x 4 WD vehicle and driven along the Wakatipu lakeside towards Glenorchy, this is one of the most scenic drives you will ever experience. Continue to the carpark at the entrance to the famous Routeburn walking track, here, you will leave the vehicle and begin your walk.This is an easy to moderate walk approximately 3 -4 hours with stops along the way. Popular for sight-seeing since the 1880s, the track begins by winding alongside the crystal-clear river, the Route Burn. You will pass through beautiful red beech / tawhero forests, and you may hear or see native birds such as tomtits, fantail and robins.After passing Sugarloaf Stream, you will continue to Bridal Veil Waterfall and pick a suitable spot to enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch and beverages. Your knowledgeable guide will tell you about the history of the region, from its formation through to early explorers and the flora and fauna which surrounds you.Keen walkers have the option of adding 90 minutes (45 minutes each way) onto the walk to explore the beautiful Routeburn Falls.
