The Arctic Bath Hotel in Harads, Swedish Lapland is a unique concept of a floating hotel, surrounded by water which freezes over in the winter. At the centre of the main floating building is a plunge pool, carved into the ice during winter.
This innovative hotel opened to the public in February 2020
The main hotel building floats on the river- which freezes over during winter
Indulge in spa treatments and if you're feeling brave take a dip in river in the natural plunge pool
Visit in summer to experience the midnight sun or in winter in the hopes of spotting the Northern Lights
During the summer months, the intuitive design of the main hotel building floats on water, a design inspired by a block of floating timber in the river, a traditional mode of transport to move logs downstream. During the winter months, as the river freezes, guests are surrounded by the frozen water, creating a mesmerising ice sculpture.
The central feature of the hotel is an open-air cold bath offering a refreshing antidote after experiencing the different saunas. Alongside the saunas you'll find treatments rooms, a lounge area, bar and restaurant. For treatments there a range of therapies including massages and cleansing and detox therapies.
This boutique hotel features six floating cabins and as well as land cabins and on the shoreline. Each room features a private terrace, a great spot to enjoy the midnight sun in summer, the Northern Lights between August and April or simply to enjoy the pure, clean, detoxing air that Swedish Lapland offers.
