Hotel Skeppsholmen
  • Hotel Skeppsholmen is neighboured by the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Swedish Architecture

  • Located on the waterfront of Skeppsholmen island just a short walk from the city centre

  • Decorated in classic Scandinavian style - minimalist and chic

  • Very friendly and helpful staff and a very relaxed and informal atmosphere

Hotel Skeppsholmen dates back to 1699 when it was built in order to house the Royal Marines. The building exchanged hands many times, each time being developed for various different uses such as a hospice, a storage facility for the Navy, residential apartments for the Navy and their families and lastly Navy offices.

During its extensive renovation by Swedish architects Claesson Koivisto Rune many of the original constructions and details were uncovered and restored adding a unique historical feel to the elegant and modern design of the hotel. The clean, neutral colour scheme and modern Swedish décor is beautifully complimented by the original 17th century wooden floors and staircases.

The 78 rooms and suites have been decorated in a classically Swedish manner. They are spacious and minimalist with light colours, wooden floors and all have beautiful sea or garden views. The relaxed restaurant has a very inviting atmosphere with warm lighting, comfortable seating and delicious locally produced traditional Swedish fare with a modern twist.

Hotel Skeppsholmen is neighboured by the Museum of Modern Art, the Swedish Museum of Architecture, and the remarkable Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities and if you walk just a little further afield across the bridge you'll find yourselves on Kungsträdgården Stockholm's absolute city centre.
