The Pimalai Resort & Spa sits on the peaceful, undeveloped island of Koh Lanta, with a 900 metre long deserted and idyllic beach. Built within the rainforest as it meets the ocean you would hardly know the resort was there. Pimalai Resort & Spa prides itself on being in a natural environment and peaceful setting while maintaining high standards of luxury and friendly service.
The spacious and elegant rooms and villas are designed in a contemporary Thai style with polished wooden floors, bamboo blinds and dark wooden furniture. The deluxe rooms are in clusters of four and are set in low rise Thai style houses, all with private balconies and many of the resort's voluminous one, two and three bedroom villas have their own private swimming pool and beachfront location.
An exciting array of eight restaurants and bars means that there is something to suit everyone's tastes at The Pimalai and each one has its own style with wonderful vistas across the sea or swimming pool. Traditional tasty Thai dishes are of course a favourite but the superb seafood and authentic international cuisine is all prepared with extra fresh ingredients, chosen with care by the chefs.
In keeping with the rest of the resort and the very central philosophy of keeping things natural here, the spa brings guests back to nature with its pretty straw roofed salas fashioned with stones, native wood, bamboo, ropes and ceramics. The design may be simplistic but the spa is of international standards with aromatherapy massages, scrubs and wraps just some of the many pampering treatments available.
The Pimalai Resort & Spa also has a popular cooking school or, for those who want to be more active, there is an activity centre offering mountain bikes, trekking and tennis. The surrounding waters of the Lanta Marine National Park are pristine for diving or snorkelling and the Pimalai has its own PADI dive centre.
