With origins as a restaurant created over 30 years ago dining at Auberge du Soleil is a definite highlight
Located in the centre of the valley, just off Silverado Trail, Auberge du Soleil is an ideal retreat while exploring the famous Napa Valley wine region. Located just 65 miles north of San Francisco, Auberge guests have been drawn to the inn for its tranquillity, style and romance. A complete escape, total privacy, and the intimacy of having such a beautiful spot make the Auberge a timeless place to rest your head.
Originally established as Napa Valley’s first fine-dining establishment, it opened to acclaim in 1981 and quickly gained recognition as one of the leading and best restaurants in Northern California, not only for its superb cuisine, but also its spectacular natural setting. The pleasures of a gorgeous view enjoyed with a glass of wine and an exquisite meal invite lingering and soon the Auberge made it possible to do just that. In 1985 the Auberge du Soleil opened the inn, a collection of sun-and earth-toned rooms and suites, each featuring French doors opening onto private terraces, cosy fireplaces and sensuous elements such as private soaking tubs for two.
Auberge is as fresh and forward-thinking as it was when it first opened and pioneered a new style of laid-back luxury. Michael Taylor protégée and leading designer Suzanne Tucker has updated the resort interiors with a bright, rich look reminiscent of a secluded Côte d’Azur retreat. Under the direction of Executive Chef Robert Curry, the famed Napa Valley restaurant has earned back-to-back Michelin stars.
The Auberge Pool and Cabana, ‘La Plage’, is perfect for lounging on oversized chaises, underneath the California sun. Relax on day beds for two, sipping signature cocktails or local wines. Hotel guests can enjoy a host of poolside amenities, including WiFi and a DJ-mixed pool soundtrack, cocktails and lounge food from the restaurant.
When to visit
