Edgewood Tahoe - Winter

Designed as a modern mountain lodge, Edgewood Tahoe is a luxurious alpine escape amongst the breath-taking natural beauty of Lake Tahoe, on the state line between California and Nevada. Surrounded on all sides by pine forest, rocky lakeshore and crystal-clear waters, it is the perfect base from which to explore this natural adventure playground.

Hewn from local timber and stone, the main lodge overlooks the tranquil waters of the lake. High ceilings, open fires and cosy corners create the atmosphere of a contemporary chalet, using muted colours and natural materials to allow the views of the lake to take centre stage.  Echoing the chalet-style décor of the main lodge, the rooms and suites are characterised by the use of natural materials, earthy tones and dark wood furniture. Rooms offer views of the lake or the immaculate greens of the golf course, whilst the expansive and impressive suites all face Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada. Luxurious bathrooms with deep soak tubs and separate showers come as standard, as do gas fires for the chilly mountain nights and fluffy robes and high-thread count cotton sheets. 

The main part of the lodge houses the laid-back Coffee Bar and the Bistro, the hotel’s refined yet casual dining establishment serving delicious seasonal cuisine in chic, mountain-inspired surroundings. In the adjacent clubhouse is the Edgewood Restaurant, a stunning evening-only fine dining venue that offers uninterrupted views of the lake and the dramatic Sierra Nevada mountains beyond.  Cuisine here is elegant and refined, including regional delicacies such as pinecone smoked elk loin and roasted squab with ancient grains, all served with expertly matched wines. Also located in the clubhouse is Brooks Bar and Deck, an authentic American-style sports bar located just off the 18th hole of the hotel’s own golf course. Warm, welcoming and family friendly, Brooks is the place to enjoy laid-back comfort food and craft beers overlooking the lake and the forest beyond.   

Lake Tahoe’s position amongst the forests and slopes of the Sierra make it a true outdoor playground, with endless opportunities for activity and adventure. During the summer months, the lake comes alive with kayaking, boat trips, fishing charters and motorised water sports. The hotel’s heated lakeside swimming pool provides front row seats for all the action, with private cabanas available to hire during the day. Hiking, biking and bouldering amongst the rugged slopes of the Sierra Nevada are popular options during the summer, before the snow begins to fall and the mountains give way to skiing, snowboarding and sledding. Despite not being a ski-in, ski-out resort, Edgewood Tahoe provides a shuttle service to Heavenly Village, location for the main gondola to take snow sport enthusiasts up to the powder on Heavenly Mountain.
