Chic desert retreat
Wonderful spa facilities
Excellent for tennis and golf
The flamboyant ‘hippy-chic’ design by Jonathan Adler produces an interesting effect; a place that doesn’t do conformity and in that sense it makes it stand out – this does mean that it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Palm Springs was the place the Hollywood crowd partied in the 1950s and 60s, and the Parker Palm Springs certainly brings back the magic. A world away from Los Angeles, Palm Springs offers the perfect 2 or 3 day escape with desert hikes, spas and golf. With a tongue-in-cheek attitude the Parker certainly offers something unique, refreshing and fun.
The grounds are outstanding and we particularly like the outdoor fire-pit and lemonade stand, there are countless nooks and crannies to explore. The 144 rooms maximise low key white colours and light wooden overtones, with the fixtures and fittings that reflect the overall eccentric Adler design.
The Palm Springs Yacht Club (their spa) offers 16,500 square foot of space complete with indoor swimming pools, saunas, three Jacuzzis, steam and therapy rooms offering massages, facials, body, hydrotherapy sessions, personal trainers, tai chi, Pilates and finally yoga classes. It’s quite a spa.
The two restaurants, Norma’s and Mister Parker’s are totally unique. Norma’s offers breakfast and comfort food all day, whilst Mister Parker’s is the place to dress up and be prepared for its dark, seductive undertones.
When to visit
The restaurant serves breakfast at any time of the day so get up when you want!
