XV Beacon blends old world Boston charm and elegance with sumptuous modernity creating a fantastically located boutique hotel in the heart of Boston's elegant Beacon Hill neighbourhood.
Boston's best luxury boutique hotel
A great mix of Art Deco design and modern twists
Perfect location to explore Boston on foot
Complimentary town Lexus car service
Built in the turn of the century, XV Beacon retains its beaux arts feel, complete with original cage elevators that you might expect Bertie Wooster to pop out of as you enter. With traditional gas fires in the rooms, and art deco furniture – XV Beacon pronounces sophistication and elegance. Yet what it does so well is that it blends this with techy touches such as ipod alarm clocks, 42 inch flat screen TVs in the rooms and rain-forest showers. It truly does offer the best of both worlds, much as the city of Boston as a whole is all about.
It is perfectly located on Beacon Hill and within walking distance of all the major sights of Boston. The hotel also offers a complimentary driver service around town, but it is important to get this booked up as it is organised on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Its 63 rooms come in a variety of shapes and sizes. As you move from the Classic rooms to the Studios you will get more space, a living area and better views out to Beacon Road. The Suites has larger living areas, and the Gilbert Stuart Room has 2 bedrooms. If you want to have a separate bathtub and shower, then opt for the Contemporary Classic Rooms and above. Our pick, however are the larger Beacon Hill or Boston Hill Studios which makes most of the superb views over Boston.
The Mooo Steakhouse is the main restaurant providing a range of New England cuisine. Try the Lobster Bisque if you get a chance. With its cream and brown tones, wooden tables and exposed brickwork, it really does create a superb atmosphere for a perfect evening. Head up to the delightful rooftop terrace for the views.
In short, XV Beacon is a stunning luxury boutique hotel for those who might not be fans of the larger international hotels that might have a lot more facilities, but lack that certain sparkle and inner warmth that boutique hotels produce in droves.
