Hidden away in a leafy corner of Victoria Falls Town, Batonka Guest Lodge is an elegant, boutique lodge nestled amongst tranquil landscaped gardens. Just a short drive away from the mighty Falls themselves, this 22-room property offers a bright, modern space with a nod to the colonial-era, focusing on comfort and warm hospitality.
The rooms are dotted amongst the gardens, grouped in blocks of 5 or 6, with private verandas looking out across the lawns. Each of the rooms is tranquil and spacious, with light, bright décor and splashes of colour from the local art and textiles. Private en-suite bathrooms feature either a rain shower or bath, with billowing mosquito nets draping the twin or king-size beds. Some of the rooms interconnect, providing fantastic, flexible accommodation for families travelling with children.
In the main heart of the lodge, the restaurant serves up a delicious full English breakfast each morning to fuel you up for the day ahead. Wholesome, home-cooked food is available for both lunch and dinner, with dining spaces available both inside the lodge and outside overlooking the gardens. In the chillier months, make the most of the lodge’s lounge area with open fireplace, the perfect spot to relax after a day exploring the Falls, or during the scorching Zimbabwean summer, take a refreshing dip in the lodge’s outdoor swimming pool.
Alongside the comfort of their guests, Batonka’s owners have given great consideration to the environmental impact of the lodge. Solar geysers operate in all rooms, grey water recycling occurs to help maintain the beautiful gardens and the air conditioning units are ozone friendly.
