Avondrood Guest House is one of our favourite places to stay in the Winelands. Located in a tranquil area yet close to the bustle of Franschhoek village, this is the perfect base from which to explore the area and sample its many delights.
Tantalise your taste buds at world class restaurants and eateries, only a short stroll away.
Escape from reality and unwind by the crackling fire with a glass of Amarula in the intimate lounge.
Uncover local secret finds and hidden gems with the help of manager Justin
Avondrood is a charming Cape Dutch house just outside the centre of Franschhoek, a short walk to the world-renowned restaurants and award-winning vineyards.
With just eight bedrooms including a two bedroom mountain suite, the property is small and intimate filled with plenty of personal touches. The rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished with locally made furniture and decorated in neutral tones. All rooms are en-suite and equipped with television, iPod dock and tea and coffee making facilities. The rooms open onto the beautiful gardens which make the most of the impressive mountainous scenery that the Winelands are famed for. Relax and take a dip in the pool or hot tub, and enjoy looking at the sculptures dotted around the grounds – there are 2000 square metres in all to explore.
An extensive breakfast menu is offered as well as there being a lounge where you can enjoy a glass of wine or evening drink from the honesty bar. For evening meals we recommend strolling into the centre of the village where you will find world class restaurants.
The manager Justin is a fount of information and is always happy to help you book your activities or restaurants, and share local tips to make the most of your stay.
