Visit to the Shanga workshop

Pay a visit to the Shanga workshop in Arusha, a local, socially-conscious, company which employs people with disabilities to create stunning hand-made jewellery and glassware. Admire the beautiful creations while contributing to the local community.

Visit to the Shanga workshop

Since 2007, the Shanga workshop has been employing talented people with disabilities in its unique workshop. These skilled artists create high-quality goods using a number of techniques, from glass blowing to Maasai beading and traditional weaving.

You will have the opportunity to visit the workshop and see the artists in action, learn about the beading technique and even design your own necklace! Learn about the incredible work of the Shanga Foundation, and how the profits here are used for the production of new items, and the continued employment of disabled people. Finally, peruse the shop and pick up a unique gift to take home to family or friends, or keep for yourself!
