Best time to visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit

Tanzania is a large country, with a varied climate. Generally, the long rains run from March to May - the temperature is warm and the humidity is high. June to October is the long dry season, and the short rains are in November and December, much lighter than the long rains. January and February are again dry (the short dry season) so this is another good time to visit. The wildebeest migration happens most of year in Tanzania's Serengeti, and is linked to the rainfall.

Itinerary

Fly to Sasakwa (via Nairobi)
Day 1-4

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Submerge yourself in the divine Tanzanian wilderness on the ultimate safari.  Arrive into Kilimanjaro Airport and connect to the Singita Mara Reserve, an entire privately-owned game reserve set on the northern bank of the Mara River within the 40,000 hectare Lamai triangle in the most Northerly section of Tanzania's Serengeti National Park. It has one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in the Serengeti National Park.

Mara River Camp was designed by award winning South African Interior Designer Cécile & Boyd’s, arguably the most beautiful interiors across the Singita portfolio. The camp is a 100% 'off the grid' camp, relying exclusively on a custom-designed solar power system of the latest technology.  When you are not enjoying the opulent surroundings of the lodge you will explore the region on 4x4 game drives in search of an abundance of wildlife, including the annual migration of zebra and wildebeest, widely known as the greatest natural spectacle on earth.

Accommodation: Singita Mara River Tented Camp ( 3 nights )
Day 4-7

Grumeti Reserves, greater Serengeti, Tanzania

You will then be driven to Singita Faru Faru Lodge to continue your safari experience. This stunning lodge is located a 45-minute drive from Sasakwa Lodge overlooking the Grumeti River with just eight spacious but cosy suites. Elevated viewing decks overlook the waterhole while huge picture windows in each room mean that game viewing never has to stop. Again this is a region that will offer fantastic wildlife experiences on twice daily game drives and safari walks, it is also positioned on the renowned migratory route. Hot air-balloon rides can be easily organised over the stunning reserve for a really special touch.

Accommodation: Singita Faru Faru Lodge ( 3 nights )
Day 7-13

Shungi Mbili Island, Tanzania

Now it is time to leap into your very own private playground.  Fly by helicopter to the remote, utterly luxurious and deeply tranquil Thanda island.  The most opulent private villa in the Indian Ocean off the coat of Tanzania, a private marine reserve to enjoy all to yourself or with family and friends. A secluded retreat creating the ultimate island living experience.

Swim with gentle whale shark, scuba dive the many reefs, take a game of island tennis, stroll along your own private 1100 metre beach, dine on ocean-fresh seafood and explore the 8 hectare island through the bush following white sand trails.  Make the most of the boathouse full of equipment all for you to enjoy, and a boatman dedicated to you as your personal guide.  You have most definitely reached your very own private paradise, with limitless service to match.
