Charco Hotel has a superb position overlooking the river in Colonia del Sacramento, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Located just a ten minute stroll from the port where you arrive on the ferry from Buenos Aires, it has an ideal position for exploring this charming, historic town.
The hotel comprises several original Portuguese houses dating back to 1680, with stone walls and terracotta tiled roofs. The integrity of the houses have been carefully maintained and the interiors lovingly and tastefully restored into seven rooms and a family house, as well as a charming bistro restaurant. Combining original interior stone walls with bright white furnishings, oatmeal coloured armchairs, the rooms have a cosy and relaxed feel.
There are pretty gardens leading down to the river and some rooms overlook the river whilst others overlook the characterful cobbled streets. The Bistro restaurant serves locally sourced dishes, from salads and antipasti to seafood courses and pizzas. There is a bright, airy restaurant and a sunny outdoor terrace to choose from.
Charco's rooms are each individual in their style, with two senior rooms, three suites, a spacious balcony room and a small room ideal for children. There is also El Rancho, a two-bedroom house with a spacious lounge, kitchen and family bathroom, with space to accommodate an extra bed.
