Scott Dunn Photo Competition: Escape the Ordinary
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before entering the competition. By entering, you indicate that you accept these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them.
1. Promoter
The promoter of this competition is Scott Dunn Travel Ltd., with offices located at Mindspace Hammersmith, 1 Butterwick, London, W6 8DL (UK), 420 North Cedros Ave, Suite 102, Solana Beach, CA 92075 (US), 114 West 41st Street, New York, NY, 10036 (US), and Raffles City Tower, #15-02(A), 250 North Bridge Road, Singapore, 179101.
2. Eligibility
The competition is open to individuals aged 16 and over. Entrants must not be employees of Scott Dunn, their family members, or anyone else connected in any way with the competition or helping to set it up. If you are under 18 years old, you must obtain parental consent to enter.
3. Competition Period
The competition begins at 12:01 AM on 09/03/2024 and closes at 11:59 PM on 10/25/2024 (the "Competition Period"). All times are in GMT, and any entries received outside the Competition Period will be void. The competition is void where prohibited by law.
4. How to Enter
To enter, participants must:
- Email their photo(s) to photocompetition@scottdunn.com.
- Include a short description of each image, including the location and what the photo captures.
- A maximum of 3 photos per entrant is allowed.
By entering, any entrant agrees to allow the free use of their names, photographs, and photo locations for marketing purposes, including but not limited to publishing entries on Scott Dunn's websites, social media channels, and in email and postal mailings.
5. Entry Requirements
- Photographs must be the original work of the entrant.
- Photos that have previously won a Scott Dunn photography competition are ineligible.
- Minimal editing is acceptable.
- Photos depicting wildlife in unnatural environments or captivity will be disqualified.
- Images of children will not be accepted.
- Ensure you have permission from any individuals featured prominently in your photos.
6. Prize
The winner will receive a Photography Masterclass: The Basics & Beyond with Scott A. Woodward, valued at £2,500 GBP / $2,500 USD / $2,500 SGD. This immersive bootcamp includes three separate 2-hour workshops, offering a fundamental introduction to photography and an exploration of narrative storytelling. The prize is non-transferable and has no cash alternative. Scott Dunn reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if circumstances make this unavoidable. The winner is responsible for any taxes or fees associated with the receipt of the prize.
7. Winner Selection
The winner will be selected based on the quality of the photograph submitted, as determined by our head judge, Scott A. Woodward. The winner will be notified via email using the contact details provided. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not claim their prize within 10 days of notification, Scott Dunn reserves the right to select another winner.
8. Judging Criteria
Entries will be judged according to the following criteria:
- Capturing the Moment: How well does the photo capture a unique and memorable travel moment?
- Emotional Impact: Does the photo evoke emotions or a sense of wonder?
- Visual Appeal: Is the photo visually pleasing with clear, well-composed elements?
- Theme Adherence: Does the photo relate to the theme of "Escape the Ordinary"?
- Personal Connection: Does the photographer's personal connection with the moment come through?
9. Data Protection
All personal data submitted by an entrant in connection with this competition is submitted voluntarily. This information will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which can be viewed on our website. You may request the deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting marketing@scottdunn.com. However, if a request for data erasure is received prior to the conclusion of the competition, your entry will be voided.
10. General
Scott Dunn reserves the right to cancel, modify, or supersede the competition (including altering prizes) if, in our sole discretion, the competition is not capable of being conducted as specified. Scott Dunn retains the right not to use an image. The Promoter’s decision shall be final and binding in all respects.
11. Liability
The Promoter does not accept any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate entry information caused by Internet users, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the competition, or by any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of entries. The Promoter is not responsible for any tax implications that may arise from winning a prize.
