Josephine Tran
I was born in France and did most of my schooling in the States. I grew up traveling back and forth from California to my family's home in the French countryside every summer. My passion for travel in Asia began with a summer internship in Vietnam back in my college years.
I was fortunate enough to live and work in Singapore for four years. Singapore's Changi Airport is legendarily beautiful and well-connected to the rest of the world. Between work travel and personal travel, I managed to visit most of Southeast Asia, Australia, and NZ throughout my time in SG. I also got to frequently visit my dad's side of the family in southern Vietnam; Saigon is a short two-hour flight from Singapore. In terms of my travel bucket list, I've never been to the African continent, or South America, and would love to experience both. I've been on a mini safari in Sri Lanka but would absolutely love to see the Big Five in Africa! Although I've had the privilege to visit Europe on many occasions I have yet to go to Spain. That is high on my bucket list! I want to revel in the architecture and eat all the delicious paellas ASAP.
Favorite places I've been
My top tips
-
To ensure I'm trying the best possible food in a new city, I always ask taxi drivers what they like to eat and where they go to find the most delicious food.
-
Booking flights way in advance means I get my favorite seat on the plane.
-
Noise-cancelling headphones on a flight are non-negotiable.
