Buenos Aires and the Iguazu Falls are year round destinations, with pleasant temperatures. January and February are usually the hottest months while the winter months (June and July) tend to be cooler (and wetter in the city). With fairly tropical conditions all year, it's the water levels at the Iguazu Falls that can vary depending on rainfall in the surrounding area - December to February tend to be wetter, compared to the driest months (June and July), however, you'll be rewarded with stunning vistas regardless of the season.

You can expect plenty of sunshine almost all year round in Mendoza, with a similar dip in temperatures in winter months.

Patagonia is best visited from November to March when temperatures are milder but visitors should be prepared for strong winds and changeable weather at any time. It is worth considering traveling outside this time, especially rewarding in April (for autumn colors) or October (for spring flowers) because winds can drop significantly and there are fewer visitors in the National Parks. May to September is winter and many hotels in Southern Patagonia close for the season.

Day 1-4

Iguazu Falls, Northeastern Argentina, Argentina

On arrival in Iguazu, take a breath after your long journey before your adventure here truly begins. Cool off in the huge pool and relax this afternoon. The falls are made up of over 275 individual drops, and the pièce de résistance is the impressive Devil's Throat, which is the widest and most powerful section. Your first full day at the falls will involve a tour with a private guide of the Argentine side which covers a vast area, and where you can feel the sheer power of the cascades from the catwalks. We’ve got a whole host of experiences in store for you on the Brazilian side the following day. You’ll begin by taking a Jeep through the depths of the jungle, following the Yacaratia Trail while toucans croak overhead. Arriving at Port Macuco, you’ll launch into motorboats to venture up the Lower Iguazu rapids to the heart of the falls. This is a wet and wild adventure which will get your heart racing! To finish your day on absolute high, we’ve included a helicopter flight over the falls on your second afternoon. There’s nothing quite like soaring over the falls in a chopper to make you realize the sheer scale of this epic natural wonder.

Day 4-7

Mendoza Wine Region, Argentina

Utterly rejuvenated from your Iguazu Falls experience, it’s time to fly to Mendoza. This is the heart of Argentina’s wine region and where many of the bottles you’ve enjoyed on your travels thus far will have been produced. Now is the time to immerse yourself in this fascinating industry and learn the ins and outs of what defines the country’s wines. You’ll stay three nights at stylish Casa de Uco, with uninterrupted views of the vines and Andes Mountains beyond. There will be ample opportunity to explore the region’s vineyards during your stay. When not delving deep into the wine making process, this is a simply delightful place to unwind.  You’ll be treated to yet more gourmet cuisine options too. Francis Mallmann cooks up a storm in the restaurant Siete Fuegos at The Vines Resort & Spa, in which seven outdoor fires contribute to the rustic cooking techniques that give the food its flair.

Accommodation: Casa de Uco ( 3 nights )
Day 7-10

Bariloche & the Lake District, Lake District, Argentina

From the decadent vineyards of Mendoza to the boundless lakes of Bariloche, your next stop won’t disappoint. Perched on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi as if straight out of a fairy tale, Hosteria Las Balsas is where you’ll spend the next three nights. Lean into the serenity of this stunning region and succumb to the slow pace of life that presents itself. Lace up and explore the hiking trails that traverse the hotel’s surrounding wilderness or take to the water in a kayak and drift on the serene lake. Life-affirming scenery aside, one of the real highlights of the few days you spend at Las Balsas is sure to be the food. Authentic Argentine fare is approached with real artistry, creating a gourmet experience which is both deliciously comforting and full of flair. That’s before we even mention the wine cellar, which is treasure trove of delight, 150 labels strong. Guests tend to make their lunches and dinners the focal point of their day, fitting in activities around them or simply kicking back at the spa and doing satisfyingly little.

Accommodation: Las Balsas ( 3 nights )
Day 10-13

Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires and the Pampas, Argentina

For your last three nights of your trip, you’ll have the stylish Home Hotel as your base in the city’s fashionable Palermo Soho neighbourhood. A boutique hotel oozing Argentinean character and with some of the city’s best bars and restaurants on your doorstep, this is the place to be. Delve into the eclectic flair of the city on a private bicycle tour. Piece the city’s many vibrant neighbourhoods together jumping from one buzzing plaza to the next, with stops along the way to devour piping hot empanadas and refreshing cervezas. Throw yourself into the city’s passion by taking in a Rojo Tango Show and let us treat you to a private cooking class behind an unmarked black door. Tantalise your taste buds with a cooking demonstration from Fernando Mayoral, one of the city’s most renowned chefs. Watch the master at work and try your hand at preparing your own gourmet creations, before sitting down to enjoy a three-course dinner with fine wines. Amidst the flutter of Buenos Aires’ constantly evolving food scene, this curated culinary extravaganza is reserved for people in the know.
