Nestled under a canopy of Kentia palms and Banyan trees at the sheltered northern end of the island, Arajilla is utterly relaxed, welcoming and peaceful. With visitor numbers restricted on the island, there is no sense of urgency and you can take your own time to explore and enjoy the fabulous facilities the hotel has to offer.
Twelve comfortable suites sit within the tropical surrounds and are decorated in a clean, contemporary style, each with their own private deck and plenty of living space. All rooms are equipped with snorkeling and fishing gear as well as mountain bikes and backpacks.
The restaurant offers a calm and informal environment in which to enjoy some of the best food, wine and service that the island has to offer. Arajilla's Lounge is a great place for a coffee or a cocktail and the hotel can organize wonderful picnics or barbecue provisions for you to take on your explorations as well as in-suite dining, be it breakfast in bed or a romantic dinner for two.
No trip to Lord Howe would be complete without exploring this stunning natural wilderness. Crags and coves carve out private beaches where you won't see another soul all day; dive and snorkel on the most southerly reef in the world; explore the peaks and pinnacles of the island on foot to soak up the views; play a round of golf or a game of tennis; or simply relax at Arajilla’s Ayurda Ayurvedic Day Spa, located in a Mongolian Yurt under the Banyan trees. The Spa offers an extensive treatment menu including, massage, facials and Shirodhara, and is ideal for some pampering after a day exploring one of Australia’s best kept secrets.
When to visit
The Kentia palm, the logo of Arajilla and to be found everywhere on Lord Howe, was unique to the island - but now it has been exported and is now the world's favorite indoor palm.
