Bullo River Station

A family run homestead, Bullo River Station is in one of the most spectacular and remote parts of Australia's Northern Territory where you can enjoy home cooked meals and join in with the day to day working of the cattle station.

Bullo River Station
  • The welcoming nature of Bullo River Station is incomparable - you feel more like a family friend than a tourist

  • Take to the river for some fishing - Barramundi are almost guaranteed at Bullo

  • Head out with the Bullo River team and learn how they feed poddy calves and muster the cattle

  • Keep your cameras close to hand, as wallaroos, wallabies, dingos, crocodiles and buffalo are all regular sightings

Situated in the top northwest corner of the Northern Territory in what is referred to as the East Kimberley, there is no better place to experience a quintessential Australian outback station. The station, although easily accessed by light aircraft, is incredibly remote, with the front gate of the property being 50kms from the homestead and the nearest neighbors a 3-hour drive away! This area is in fact so remote that some of the waterholes and Aboriginal art found here had remained unseen for hundreds of years.

The property is sat amongst a truly spectacular landscape where roaring waterfalls and gorges; the winding Victoria River; and rugged hills, inscribed with rock art; are all just a stone's throw away.

For guests looking to expereince authentic outback hopitality, then Bullo River Station is worth a stay. Accommodation is in a purpose built building next to the homestead and consists of twelve air conditioned en-suite rooms. Each of the rooms are simple yet stylish, having been redesigned by Sydney interior designer, Sibella Court of The Society Inc, and feature sliding doors leading out onto the homestead's lawns and rockeries.

Meals here are relaxed with breakfasts on the veranda, picnic lunches out and about, and lovely fresh barramundi or organic prime beef from the local pastures being regulars on the dinner menu. The kitchen is constantly churning out cakes and biscuits to fill the picnic baskets; and good, wholesome food is central to your stay here.

Activities are customized to each individual depending on what you feel like doing on the day, whether that's cattle mustering, horse riding through vast gorges, or relaxing on a river cruise. There are plenty of great spots for picnics, swimming in waterholes, and you can even take a helicopter flight to find your own private piece of wilderness.
