Europe Expert, Cammie recently returned from her own ski vacation here and discovered just how special this quaint village is. Here’s her guide to Lech.

Lech is part of the the Arlberg ski area, the 5th largest ski area in the world, comprised of five connected villages. On one pass you can ski from village-to-village, and each place completely is different than the last. From the après ski party town and steep slopes of St Anton to the idyllic luxurious ski towns of Zürs and Lech there is a place for every type of taste in this region.

Lech is a two-level town with Oberlech perched high on the slopes (accessible by gondola) and Lech proper down in the sweeping valley. Oberlech is dotted with hotels and delicious après ski restaurants, while Lech proper is lined with luxurious shops, the St. Nikolaus church standing tall amidst pristine homes and hotels, and a lovely selection of fine dining and causal restaurants.

In all, Lech is the perfect mix of luxury without being pretentious and is surrounded by an incredible ski area that is a good fit for all levels.
