The Airstream is operational all year. The very best time to go is from May to September, which is the drier season in the Andes. The Airstream may operate a slightly different schedule during the rainy season, which is from late November until beginning of April. Lake Titicaca is also at its most pleasant during this season. Chile's central valleys can be visited year-round, although generally boast more spring-like weather through May-November, and are slightly cooler in the evenings.

Itinerary

Fly to Santiago
Day 1-3

Colchagua Valley, Chile

Maximize your time on vacation by flying to Chile overnight. Ask our experts about flight upgrades to get your trip off to a sophisticated start. Indulge in a tasteful meal in the air, kick back with a glass of wine and recline in comfort to wake up in Santiago and plunge into Chile’s prominent wine region.

Welcome to Central Valley, Chile’s celebrated wine region stretching across 250 miles of varied terrain and climate. Superb wines to taste, exquisite cuisine and a horseback ride through the estate make for a lovely start to the journey.

Accommodation: Clos Apalta Residence ( 2 nights )
Day 3-6

San Pedro de Atacama

The limitless horizons of the Atacama Desert await you. Fly North to Calama followed by a one-hour transfer to San Pedro for the next stage of your adventure, where you’ll stay three nights at the utterly pampering Awasi Atacama.

Delve into the boundless landscape of the desert on a sunset hike to the Moon Valley. Visit the Salt Mountain Range, marvel at the jaw-dropping scenery and allow your private guide to teach you about its rare rock formations. As the sun begins to set, scramble to the top of a large sand dune and gaze in awe as you watch the sun set behind Moon Valley. Hike through the Guatin Gatchi Valley, where barren desert landscape dotted with giant cacti and trickling rivers dominate the horizon. Venture through the rugged desert on horseback to soak up the region in all its glory or visit the shimmering Antiplanic lagoons for an otherworldly encounter. On your last evening, bid farewell to the Atacama Desert with a perfectly chilled Chilean glass of wine and toast to the irreplaceable memories made here.

Accommodation: Awasi Atacama ( 3 nights )
Day 6-8

Uyuni Saltpan

Crossing the border into Bolivia, you will be blown away by the sheer natural beauty of the surrounding panoramas. Traversing the landscape in a 4x4, you’ll encounter the startling emerald waters of Laguna Verde and the staggering red hue of Laguna Colorada - a vast, high-altitude desert plain of smoking volcanoes, boiling mud and a flamingo haven. Continue your adventure through multi-colored mountains, bizarre rock formations, and deserts at high altitude where very few animals can withstand the aridity and biting night temperatures.

Your South American escapade continues to go from strength to strength as you arrive in Bolivia’s haunting Salar de Uyuni. Stretching further than the eyes can see, the surface pan itself is a thick crust of salt covered by quilted, hexagon patterns of salt rising from the ground. Here you’ll stay two nights in a luxurious Airstream camper, offering you a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Spend the days exploring the salt flats with your private guide in a 4x4 SUV, visit local communities and unveil ancient stories treasured in the pre-Inca tombs. In the evenings, head back to your camper and quench your thirst with a refreshing cocktail as you watch the sunset against the dramatic backdrop of the otherworldly salt flats before indulging in delicious cuisine prepared by your private chef.

Accommodation: Airstream Uyuni ( 2 nights )
Day 8-10

La Paz, Bolivia

Fly to La Paz, Bolivia’s colorful capital city nestled in a sweeping valley amid towering Andean peaks. You’re staying at Casa Grande in Zona Sur, La Paz’s residential area to the south of the metropolis and just a stone’s throw away from the city’s finest bars and restaurants. Stroll through the enchanting streets, stop for a drink in a heritage bar and simply watch the world go by. We’ll curate a private city experience so that you leave no La Paz stone unturned. Head out with one of our expert guides on a HD tour of the city, investigate the many different neighborhoods, devour delicious cuisine and immerse yourself in the intriguing Mercado de las Brujas. Listen to beguiling stories of Bolivia’s ancient witchcraft and marvel at the array of natural remedies, voodoo charms and alluring potions on display. Be dazzled by La Paz’s vibrant street art. Feel the heat as you take in the impressive spectacle of local evening performers and allow us to book you a table to dine at one of the hottest restaurants in town.

Accommodation: Casa Grande Hotel ( 2 nights )
Day 10-13

Lake Titicaca

Leaving the buzz of La Paz behind, it’s time to really escape from it all at Lake Titicaca. Crossing the border into Peru, your final stop on this ultimate adventure will not disappoint. Your home for the next three nights is the sumptuous Titilaka Lodge, a secluded contemporary lodge set on a private peninsula on the shores of Lake Titicaca nestled in the breathtaking landscape of the Andes. Wrap around terraces create a privileged vantage point for breathtaking sunrises and peaceful sunsets, and the eighteen suites are well equipped to provide you with a seamless stay.

The surrounding area of this idyllic sanctuary is an unspoiled wilderness waiting for you to explore. Take to the water with your private guide and discover neighboring islands and local communities on a full day tour of the Lake. In between floating the tranquil waters, indulge in a picnic lunch served against the almighty backdrop of the lake and Bolivia's Cordillera Real Mountain range in the distance. The crystal-clear night skies of Titilaka and the relatively thin atmosphere provide the perfect environment for stargazing, so we’ve also included an Aymara constellation observation during your stay. Head out to the observation platform with your expert guide, marvel at the glistening sky and listen to captivating stories of ancient civilizations beliefs, Andean constellations and celestial movements. Round off your trip on the dusk side of the lake and watch the sunset while sipping fine wine and devouring tasteful canapes.

Accommodation: Titilaka ( 3 nights )
