Best time to visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit

Cambodia is hot all year round and the best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. It starts to get wetter in May and the wettest months are September and October. It is still possible to visit during this time as rain usually falls as short sharp storms. November is a fantastic month to visit Cambodia as it is very green after the rainy season and the lakes and rivers are full of water.

Itinerary

Day 1-4

Siem Reap & Angkor Wat, Cambodia

Your personally curated trip through Cambodia begins with a private tour to the magnificent temples of Angkor that pepper the rural and jungle clad landscape surrounding Siem Reap.

Spend several days exploring these intricate jungle ruins with your private specialist guide, avoiding the crowds and getting to the lesser visited corners. Visit the ancient capital of Angkor Thom after the crowds disperse, and marvel at the mysterious faces of Bayon. Finish the day with a relaxing sunset cruise around the moat of Angkor Thom, sipping a cooling drink as the sun disappears into the jungle. Your guide will also ensure that you get a perfect view of the sun rising over Angkor Thom, a hugely popular experience that we nevertheless thoroughly recommend.  Stay at the exclusive Amanasara, the former guesthouse of King Sihanouk, luxurious and tranquil – the perfect retreat after a day's sightseeing offering fantastic service, delicious cuisine and luxury accommodation.  Revel in the exclusive twilight dining experience with the Amansara at the Srah Srang, traditional Khmer House at the heart of the Angkor Archaeological Park.

You will be spoiled for choice when it comes to dining; the chef on board is one of Asia's top ranked and the produce could not be fresher as the chef shops at local riverside markets which you are encouraged to help with, before he creates inspiring dishes for you to enjoy. You will enjoy stopping en-route as your cruise down the Mekong witnessing changing scenery, fascinating culture, and everyday lifestyles of the locals. During the dry season it is not possible to cross Tonle Sap on a large boat and you will instead fly to Phnom Penh to embark on a three-night cruise up Tonle Sap river to the lake from the south side and explore up the fork of the Mekong, starting and finishing in Phnom Penh.
