Located at the southwest of Shennongjia, the Shennong Peak Scenic Area is home to subtropical forest ecological system with over 2,419 plant types, 336 vertebrates, 308 birds, 23 amphibians, 40 reptiles, 47 fishes and over 600 insects.
Shennong Valley is also known as Vista Valley or Badong Valley due to its massive U shape. The multiple layers of mountain peaks stand at different heights, creating majestic views as you witness it from the mouth of the valley.
In Longtan Valley, you can find the Dalongtan Golden Monkey Research Center where you will have the opportunity to witness the famous golden monkeys.
