Brac
Home to mountains, pine forests and peaceful coastal villages, Brac is Dalmatia's largest island, and a picturesque haven just one hour from mainland Croatia. On Brac, you can really get away from it all - try a gentle cycle around the island, or visit some of the secluded beaches away from the main towns of Supetar and Bol.
Just one hour by ferry from Split, Brac is easily accessed from the Croatian mainland, perfect for a day trip or a longer stay. This is the ideal location to unwind away from the crowds of Split and Dubrovnik, and to get back to nature in this authentically Croatian setting. The pine forests are peppered with quaint fishing villages, and the island plays host to olive groves and vineyards, producing some of Croatia's best wines.
Bol and Supetar are Brac's bustling main towns, renowned for their superb beaches, in particular Bol's Golden Horn, also known as Zlatni Rat, one of Croatia's most iconic beaches. Across Brac, the typically Croatian architecture stands out thanks to the island's renowned bright white stone, which has been used for centuries to build landmarks around the world, from Diocletian's Palace in Split to Washington DC's White House.
