Best Time to Visit Egypt
The best time to visit Egypt is from October to April, when temperatures are cooler and sightseeing in the exposed desert landscape is more comfortable. September and May in Egypt are still good times to visit but temperatures will begin to rise. Even in Egypt’s coolest months, temperatures across the country will reach 20°C.
Egypt’s summer is incredibly hot, with temperatures often reaching 35 to 40°C. Egypt heat is a dry heat, and travel in summer means fewer visitors and lower prices. Our Experts Say...
"The best time to visit Egypt is between October and April, giving it a relatively short "best travel" window. Due to this, demand over these dates is extremely high, so it's best to plan ahead, especially if you're looking to do a short Nile cruise. The shoulder months of September and May also work great if you're ok with a little more heat, but offer better availability and lower tourist numbers. Travel between June and September is of course possible but the days will be very hot with daily average temperatures reaching well into the 100°F region. As you're likely to do a lot of walking around at the sights, I would certainly recommend avoiding the summer months. For divers, the Red Sea is a must and is easily combined with the rest of Egypt. Diving/snorkeling is best around September/October and April/May as the water temperature can get a little chilly by November, December and January (but it's absolutely fine with a wetsuit!)"
