The Chateau de la Treyne is a fairytale castle from the XIVth and XVIIth Century combining the magic of a bygone era with the luxury and comfort of a modern age. With magnificent views and surrounded by 120 hectares of forest it is truly a magical hotel.

Overhanging the Dordogne, the hotel is run by the owners Philippe and Stéphanie Gombert who have taken the art of living to new levels: charming and luxurious bedrooms, breakfast in the shade of ancient cedars, dinner in the Louis XIII lounge or on the terrace overlooking the river, nothing is too much trouble for their guests.

The building of the fortress of La Treyne, in 1342 according to the earliest written records, is probably due to Guillaume and Hughes de Roffilhac.

The towers of this Château are so close to the river that it feels as if they are floating on it. Located between the Lot, known as the “Land of marvels”, and the Dordogne, home to more than one thousand châteaux, the Château de la Treyne is the most romantic and beautiful location from which to set off and explore this fascinating region. There is so much to explore in the surrounding area and returning to a delicious dinner in the Grand Louis xiii Salon, or on the terrace overlooking the Dordogne is one of life's great pleasures.

It truly is as the images portray, a fairytale castle in an extraordinary setting. There is a heated outdoor pool to relax beside in summer months, the hotel can also organize mountain biking, tennis courts on site, with hunting, golf, fishing, riding and biking all available nearby for the more adventurous.
