20-minute flight from the main island of Tahiti
Only 35 beautiful villas each with private plunge pool
This very special addition to the French Polynesian portfolio offers one of the most exclusive experiences in these already very special islands. Marlon Brando's private island in the Tetiaroa islets lies just 50 kms North of Tahiti and is accessible with a 20-minute light aircraft flight that takes you on a breathtakingly beautiful journey up high over these 12 motus that form a ring around the inner lagoon which is impassable by ships keeping it in a pristine state.
The Brando has been designed and built in the most ecologically friendly way possible to preserve the nature of the islands and their ecozystem. They are a haven for bird life in particular with petrel's and other species living on the Tahuna Iti island. The air conditioning is powered by salt water from deep in the ocean and there is a solar energy station on the island as well as a biofuel thermal power station fuelled by coconut oil. This is very important to the island's owners so that minimal impact is made on this beautiful area. All vehicles on the island are electric and guests are encouraged to take advantage of the complimentary bikes during their stay.
To take full advantage of your stay on the island, guests are encouraged to stay a minimum of three nights so as to relax and totally embrace the island experience. Every accommodation on the island is a private villa complete with a separate lounge and one to three bedrooms, plenty of relaxing indoor and outdoor space and a private plunge pool to cool off in. Most villas offer direct access on to the stunning white sandy beach and crystal clear lagoon beyond.
Days on the island can be as lazy or active as each guest desires. Choose from paddle boarding to snorkeling, guided tours with researchers to cooking demonstrations in the kitchen. The islands are a nature-lovers paradise with birds in abundance, whale watching from August to October and the exciting arrival of the nesting turtles from November to March. Join in the nightly turtle watch to look for turtles nesting or eggs hatching.
In the evenings enjoy a fabulous dinner in the Gastronomic Restaurant Mutiny with an intimate atmosphere accommodating just 22 guests or for something a little more relaxed dine at the Beachcomber Cafe or enjoy an in room dining experience or a private dinner for two on the beach. Sip cocktails at Bob's Bar with your feet in the sand or enjoy panoramic views over the lagoon from Bar Manu.
Whether you are traveling as a couple or a family, The Brando will welcome you with it's Polynesian smile and stunning surround in this very special corner of Polynesia.
