Location
The Samode Safari is located in the largely untouched Bandhavgarh National Park, in central Madhya Pradesh.
Samode Safari Lodge is a 12 cottage hotel on the edge of Bandhavgarh National Park. The cottages take inspiration from the architecture of the local villages and the lodge offers daily game drives with specially adapted vehicles and knowledgeable guides.
Samode Safari Lodge is close to Bandhavgarh National Park and has just 12 villas, each inspired by the local villages nearby. All of the villas feature a private terrace - the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee and listen to the sounds of the park!
The resident naturalists are amongst the best in the area and their knowledge of the wildlife, birds, butterflies, trees and flowers is astounding! Make sure to go on a walking tour around the property with the naturalist who will open you eyes to the amazing birds within the grounds of the Safari Lodge.
Dining is not just about the food but the location. The team at Samode Safari Lodge will arrange al fresco dining around the property -nothing beats a candlelit dinner with the distant sound of a tiger roaring through the darkness!
While not on game drives in the early morning and late afternoon, why not relax by the pool with a good book or unwind with a rejuvenating massage at the onsite spa.
Samode Safari Lodge is a charming, luxurious option for those wanting to explore the incredible wildlife of Bandhavgarh National Park. The lodge is the sister property of Samode Haveli and Samode Palace in Jaipur and has just twelve private villas.
Inspired by the local architecture, the villas are most elegant with a spacious lounge, bedroom, en-suite bathroom and a unique open-air bath court. They also have private verandas with striking views of the wilderness landscape.
Guests can enjoy dining at the main restaurant, at a table set out in the bush, poolside meals or barbecues by the camp fire. There is a different menu each day, lighter continental fare is served during the day, followed by an Indian meal each evening.
The park’s tigers are best seen while on a jeep safari, and Bhandavgarh has the highest population density of tigers so if you're going to see them anywhere it will be here! The lodge has expert naturalists to guide and teach you about the wildlife. The lodge also organizes sightseeing tours to ancient temples and nearby villages as well as having a library, recreation room, art gallery and a swimming pool.
When to visit
Ask to go on a village walk with one of the naturalists if you have a spare few hours. You will get a really wonderful understanding of the surrounding area and maybe spot some rare birds.
