First stop is the nearby Meiji Jingu shrine which is Tokyo’s most famous shrine, dedicated to the spirit of the late Emperor Meiji. The shrine and the surrounding Yoyogi Park, which has 365 different species of tree, are a great place for a relaxing stroll right in the heart of the densely built-up city. It is also a popular place for Japanese weddings and if you’re lucky you may see a bride and groom dressed in traditional Shinto wedding attire.
Next walk to the sophisticated area of Omotesando, commonly referred to as Tokyo’s Champs-Elysées. This broad, tree-lined street is home to a multitude of fashion flagship stores. Feel free to stop for a coffee in one of the area’s many stylish cafés.
