Things to Do in Jordan
Jordan is an archaeologist and historian’s paradise. Just outside Amman is Jerash, which has been around since the Bronze Age, and is one of Jordan’s most impressive sites. Petra, a UNESCO world heritage site, is of course the crème de la crème of Jordan. There is a huge amount to see in this ancient Nabatean Capital, as you walk through the stone canyon towards the Treasury, you will feel like you have been transported to another world. For those who are more active then there are fantastic hiking routes up to the high place of sacrifice where you can gaze down on this ancient city. The Monastery is also a must visit, at the other end of Petra there are a lot of steps to get there but the views and sweet tea at the end is worth the strain. Kerak Castle

Built in 1161 by the Crusaders, Kerak is a perfect example of medieval castle design. The castle is a dark maze of stone-vaulted halls and passageways. Its most famous occupant was Reynald de Chatillon, who had a reputation for treachery and brutality.
