Tabin - Early Morning Bird Walk
Early in the morning, set off for a walk to try and spot some of the wonderful birdlife that can be found around the Tabin Wildlife Reserve.
Due to the abundance of edible plant life, the reserve is a haven for many endemic and rare bird species. The rainforest canopy is also quite low, and there is plenty of natural light, meaning sightings tend to be very clear, and this is a great opportunity for keen photographers.
There are around 300 bird species in the area, including eight species of hornbill: Wrinkled, Oriental Pied, Black, Rhinoceros, Bushy Crested, White-crowned, and Helmeted. Rarer bird species include the Storm's Stork, Jambu Fruit Dove, Large Green Pigeon, White-fronted Falconet, Great-billed Heron, and Giant Pitta.
